10 Life-Changing Kitchen Hacks

Tip #1: Use Deli Containers as Tupperware. They have the same size lid for different sizes of containers so not everything has to match up perfectly. Plus they're inexpensive so I don't worry if I need to throw one out or give one to a friend. I also love these glass containers for food storage. They're all the same size which makes it so they store so neatly.

Tip #2: Designate a "kid dishes" drawer. I love these kid dishes from Target. Extra tip: While the picture below is from a client's house, I buy mine all the same color so my kids don't fight over them.

Tip #3: Put dishwasher pods in a hinge lid acrylic container up high (if you're worried about safety) or under your sink

Tip #4: Hang a hook on the inside of your sink for cleaning rag and rubber scraper. Hard things are always made easier when we make it as convenient as possible (yes, I consider cleaning my kitchen hard!)

Tip #5: Store a foldable stool under your sink for easy access. I'm 5'5 and I can't reach the top shelf of my cabinets, but I don't want a stool permanently out in my kitchen. This foldable one is the perfect size to tuck away under my sink. These first 5 tips can all be seen in the reel below:

Tip #6: Get Ziploc bags out of their boxes. You'll be pleasantly surprised at what a difference placing them in pretty bamboo organizers or clear acrylic drawer organizers can make. Watch the reel below to see how great this looks!

Tip #7: Attach a sticky-back-container to the inside of your under-the-sink cabinet for easier access to your most used cleaning supplies. See how I do this in my kitchen in the reel below:

Tip #8: Only store large round or odd-sized items in a built-in lazy susan (ie. small appliances and/or bowls). Or use containers specifically designed for lazy susan's to store smaller objects. See how I store every size of bowl in my own lazy susan in the reel below.

Tip #9: Decant Spices. Amazon sells great jars that come with labels for pretty much every spice you can imagine. You'll be amazed at how much this helps and speeds up your cooking process. Plus it's just so pretty!

Tip #10: Only keep items that you actually use (here's looking at you, extra mugs and water bottles that have accumulated exponentially through the years). Once you've edited your items and are keeping only what's being used, contain them accordingly. I love storing water bottles in cabinets using a water bottle organizer. If you need to store water bottles in a drawer, keep them upright and tidy by putting them in acrylic bins. Those same bins are great to store mugs in as well.
