Salt Lake City Donation and Recycling Guide

Updated: Feb 16

It is amazing how much good can be done when we declutter our own homes and let go of the things that might not be serving us anymore. As I work on Salt Lake City organization projects, there's so much stuff to be donated.

Here is a list of places in the Salt Lake Area to make donations, a list of places to recycle items that might not be able to be donated, and a list of places that will buy your used items for cash or trade. Websites are linked below as well as other information I thought might be helpful.

This is not a comprehensive list, but I wanted to provide a resource that shows just how many options are out there for donations. And these are all local, here in Utah! If you are not local, maybe some of these places can be found throughout the US. I also love Earth911 as a great resource for what we can do worldwide to make a difference.

Happy resetting!

As a professional organizer, I always offer to take one car load of donations with me for each project I do. I have become very familiar with many of these great places. Did you know most food pantries will accept expired food? Here is a link to a list of food pantries in the Salt Lake area. I hope you found this list helpful and can use it as a resource in all your future decluttering and resetting projects.
