I love fall.
I love fall sports.
I love crisp mornings and sunny warm afternoons.
I love harvesting my garden. My entire kitchen island is currently covered with grapes, peaches, tomatoes, apples, zucchini, and squash...all from our yard.Â
I love seeing the beautiful mountains lit up with bright colors.
I love fall hikes.
My soul feels truly alive during September and October and I love to have my home reflect the changing seasons. I believe our bodies, minds, and hearts need the seasons and the changes throughout the year to find moments of restoration. In my home, I usually remove many of the bright colors that felt so invigorating and life-giving in spring and summer and fill my home with colors that are more neutral, earthy, and help me to feel more calm. Here are some of my favorite easy fall decor swaps you can use to start transitioning your home into the cozy holiday season.
5 Easy Fall Decor Items for a Beautiful and Timeless Home
1. Fall Stems or Flowers
I have a few pots and vases around my home that I like to fill with both real and faux leaves and stems. My neighborhood has beautiful orange berries that can be foraged, but I also love the ease of having some faux florals that can be used year after year with no mess. Fall stems are my favorite!
2. Fall Art
Whether it is swapping out prints for moodier pics with fall colors or just switching up the image in your frame tv, changing a few art pieces can have a big impact
3. Fall Pillows
I have mostly neutral pillows on my couch, but in the spring and summer I have some lighter pillows with florals, blues and brighter colors. I swap those pillows out for more rust, brown, and neutral colors.
4. Fall Throw Blankets
I love the coziness of blankets year round, but having a throw blanket that really invites those warmer colors can have a big impact on a room.
5. Fall Hand Towels
It is so fun to add a little color and personality with our kitchen hand towels.
My latest favorite towels are Desert Aqua towels because they are double sided. You can use RYN10 for 10% off.Â
And I always love Geometry towels for their wide variety of fun patterns. Use code RESETYOURNEST15 for 15% off.
Later in the season I’ll pull out pumpkins and Halloween decor, but I have found that these simple decor swaps take up little space, are very timeless and classy, and really help me embrace the approaching transition to fall.
